1 Peter 4:12-17 “Suffering in Exile”
Expect Trials
We should never be caught off-guard when hardships come.
We should expect trials because we aren't at home.
In our guarded mind, we can expect trials and rejoice.
Expect Glory
We shouldn’t be surprised when God works gloriously.
We can see results from suffering that are praiseworthy.
When suffering comes, we can look forward to what God will do.
Response
Unguarded responses will lead to further suffering (vs15).
We must remember the power of God and trust Him.
In all circumstances, we must continue to do what is good.
Think about it:
Are you expecting trials?
Are you expecting to see glory through them?
Will you continue to do what is good?
